How long does it take for the lawn fertilizer to dissolve?
For the fertiliser to dissolve and work optimally, sufficient watering after application is essential. Ideally, apply the fertiliser shortly before forecast rain. Alternatively, water the lawn manually afterwards with about 8–10 litres of water per square metre.
The reason is simple:
The lawn fertiliser has to be carried down into the root zone by the water, because that is where the grass takes up most of its nutrients.
Pro tip:
Instead of infrequent, heavy applications, it’s better to apply smaller amounts of about 10 g/m², but regularly, at intervals of about four weeks. This way, you supply your lawn with nutrients more evenly and according to its needs, rather than overloading it with a single large dose 🌱.
