If your lawn is no longer dense or has bare spots, it’s a good idea to reseed it in the spring. A dense lawn not only looks better but also has significantly fewer problems with weeds and moss. A closed turf is essential for a lush green, even lawn.

Step-by-Step Guide to Overseeding Your Lawn

Weed Removal
Thoroughly remove any existing weeds so that the young grasses don't have to compete.
Preparing the Lawn
Aerate or scarify the lawn to loosen the turf.

Sowing Grass Seed
Spread the grass seed evenly over the prepared area—following the manufacturer's instructions.
Lightly cover the seeds
Cover the grass seeds with a thin layer of lawn soil.
A layer of about 0.5 cm is perfectly sufficient.
Rolling
Gently press the seeds and soil down with a roller to ensure good soil contact.
Watering
Water the area thoroughly.
Afterward, it is important to keep the soil consistently moist for 14–20 days.

- The surface just needs to stay moist
Be aware of the germination phase
High-quality grass seeds, especially RSM blends (Profiline), can take up to 20 days to germinate.
First Cut
Once the grass has grown to a height of 5–10 cm, you can mow it again.
At first, however, just trim the tips (no more than ⅓ of the stalk's length).
