How do I fertilize my lawn properly?

Regular, needs-based fertilization is the key to a thick, healthy, and lush green lawn. We recommend fertilizing about every two months starting in March. This ensures that the lawn receives an optimal supply of nutrients year-round.

Spring Fertilization

After winter, the lawn needs a boost.
Two feedings in the spring will help it get off to a strong and steady start to the season.

  • March: turbogrün Long-Lasting Lawn Fertilizer/Spring Fertilizer

  • May: turbogrün Long-Lasting Lawn Fertilizer/Spring Fertilizer (refill)

Summer Fertilization

In the summer, the lawn is under particular stress due to heat and drought.

  • July: Fertilize with our Turbogrün Summer Fertilizer to boost resilience and maintain a healthy turf

Fall Fertilization

Fall fertilization prepares the lawn for winter and strengthens the roots.

  • September: Use an autumn fertilizer with a higher phosphorus and potassium content, such as Turbogrün Autumn Lawn Fertilizer

As an alternative to the first fall fertilization, you can also apply 40–100 g/m² of turbogrün Stressmanager. This product is also ideal for use in late June, before the lawn is exposed to extreme heat.

Optional Winter Fertilization

In regions with mild climates, light fertilization in late fall or winter may be beneficial to further increase resistance to cold and disease.

Additional Measures for Optimal Results

  • Lawn Aerator:
Highly recommended 3 times a year—ideally in March, June, and September. It improves soil structure and promotes active soil life.

  • Extra-Power:
For an extra boost of growth.
Apply at a maximum rate of 20 g/m², at least 4 weeks apart from regular fertilizer applications.

Our Tip

You can fertilize your lawn in the most sustainable and effective way by having a soil analysis done at the beginning of the year. Based on the soil sample, we’ll create a customized fertilization plan for you that’s precisely tailored to your lawn’s needs.
