How much lawn soil do I need?

To determine the correct amount of lawn soil, it depends on what it will be used for. There are generally two typical uses: routine lawn care and laying a completely new lawn.

Lawn soil for lawn care (thin layer)
When lawn soil is applied as a thin layer over the existing lawn, it serves to improve the soil, stimulate soil life, and level out minor unevenness.

→ This requires about 3 liters of lawn soil per square meter.

Lawn soil for a new lawn
A complete new lawn installation requires significantly more lawn soil. In this case, a layer about 10 cm thick should be laid down to ensure the lawn has optimal starting conditions.

This requires approximately 20 liters of lawn soil per square meter, which should be spread evenly and worked into the soil accordingly.
