Product Instructions: Nonwoven Fabric for Lawn Seed

How to Use Lawn Seed Mat Correctly

The Turbogrün lawn seed mat promotes fast and reliable germination of lawn seeds. At the same time, it protects the seeds from birds and other animals and is ideal for effectively filling in bare spots in the lawn.

Step 1: Prepare the surface

First, mow the lawn short and thoroughly rake the area where you plan to reseed. Be sure to remove thatch, moss, and dead grass so that the grass seeds have optimal contact with the soil.

Step 2: Apply lawn soil

Spread a thin layer of Turbogrün lawn soil over the loosened area and smooth it out gently. This creates an ideal seedbed for reseeding.

Step 3: Sow the seed

Spread the Turbogrün reseeding grass seed evenly over the prepared area. Make sure the seeds are distributed as evenly as possible.

Step 4: Press the seeds into the soil

Next, gently press down on the grass seeds. You can use your feet, a foot plate, or a lawn roller to do this. This improves contact with the soil and promotes germination.

Step 5: Cover with a thin layer of lawn soil

Cover the seeds with another thin layer of Turbogrün lawn soil. The seeds should not be completely covered—most of them should remain visible. Then press down lightly on the area once more.

Step 6: Lay out and secure the geotextile

Place the fabric over the seeded area and cut it to the appropriate size if necessary.

For areas up to about 1 m², we recommend securing the fabric with 4 ground pins. For larger areas, use a corresponding number of additional pins to ensure the fabric lies flat and stays securely in place, even in windy conditions.

Step 7: Water regularly

Water the area 2 to 3 times a day. The soil must not dry out during the entire germination phase. The grass seeds can only germinate successfully if the soil remains consistently moist.
