Can the spring fertiliser stain paving stones?

Rust or brown stains on paving stones can be caused, among other things, by the iron content of the fertiliser.
If iron is present, it can oxidise on contact with moisture. This can produce rust or brown stains, especially on paving stones or patio surfaces.
With iron-free fertilisers, this cause does not apply.
