My lawn is uneven—how can I level it?
Depending on their depth, uneven spots in the lawn can be gently and permanently leveled. The key factor is how deep the depressions are. Here's how to do it right:
Minor unevenness (up to about 1 cm)
These can be easily corrected with quartz sand.
Procedure:
Important Notes:
The shorter the grass is mowed, the easier it is to spread the sand
The tips of the blades of grass must still be visible after sanding → If the lawn is completely covered, it will be damaged
It's a good idea to fertilize about a week beforehand → The sand helps the lawn grow faster
Optionally, you can reseed immediately before sanding → but in that case, sand only very sparingly
Moderate unevenness (more than 1 cm)
We recommend using lawn soil or a soil-sand mixture.
Procedure:
Apply topsoil to the depressions
Spread evenly without smothering the lawn
Important:
Here, too, the tips of the grass must remain visible
Larger uneven areas usually cannot be leveled in a single pass
Do not repeat the process until the grass has grown completely through the lawn soil
Significant unevenness (severe sagging)
For fast and clean results:
Cut out a section of turf from the affected area
Lift carefully
Add a layer of lawn soil (soil-sand mixture) as a base
Replace the sod and press it down
After that:
Water the area regularly until the grass has grown back.
