Product Instructions: Turbogrün Lawn Sand

So that the turbo-green Rasensand To ensure it works effectively and doesn't damage the lawn, you should follow a systematic approach when applying it and keep a few important points in mind.


Preparation

  • The lawn grass should be dry

  • Mow the lawn as short as possible so that the sand is easier to spread

Our tip:
Before sanding, aerate or scarify the lawn—aerification is even better. You can also combine these methods, which significantly improves the results.


Spreading sand

There are several ways to spread the lawn sand:

  • with a spreader

  • from the wheelbarrow, roughly spread with a shovel

  • Spread the bags of lawn sand evenly across the lawn and empty them

Important when using a spreader:

  • Fill the spreader outside the lawn area

  • Weigh the required amount beforehand

  • Follow the general dosage guidelines: approx. 1.5 kg/m²


Work the sand in evenly

  • With a Lawn rake Spread the sand evenly

  • The tips of the grass must remain visible after sanding

⚠️ If the lawn is buried under a layer of sand that is too thick, it may die.


The correct amount of sand depending on the task

The amount of sand needed depends on the condition of the lawn and the maintenance measures taken previously:

  • After aerating or scarifying:
    approx. 2–4 kg/m²

  • After aeration:
    Approx. 4.5–6 kg/m², since the aeration holes must be filled in


Important Note

Larger bumps in the lawn should not be filled with lawn sand, but rather with Lawn Soil be leveled. Lawn sand is used to improve the soil and fine-tune the level—not to fill in deep depressions.
