When should I start with the first fertilization?
There are various options here:
The first fertilizer of the year is usually applied in March. Fertilizer can be applied as soon as the temperatures rise and the lawn starts to grow again;

Another option is to measure the soil temperature. To do this, take a thermometer and measure the soil temperature. As soon as the average temperature is 8° Celsius for several days, fertilizer can be applied. When using an organic fertilizer, the average temperature should be 10° Celsius.
For all those who like to calculate: A reference value is the so-called heat sum. This means that all daily average temperatures from January onwards are added together, and as soon as the total exceeds 150 degrees Celsius, fertilizing can begin.
However, the weather forecast should always be taken into account for all of the above options.
