Should organic or mineral fertilizers be used?

This question is not so easy to answer. Both types of fertilizer have their advantages and disadvantages, so it has become a bit of a matter of faith: some like mineral fertilizers, others prefer organic fertilizers;

The effect of aorganic (lawn) fertilizeris dependent on the soil organisms. These decompose the fertilizer into nutrients. How much of this reaches the plant or lawn grass depends on various factors, some of which the lawn owner cannot influence. Temperature, water and air conditions play an important role, as does the activity of the microorganisms. It is therefore relatively difficult to calculate the exact amount of fertilizer required. It also always takes some time to see the results of fertilization.

Nevertheless, organic lawn fertilizers are highly recommended, especially in private gardens. It is virtually impossible to "burn" the lawn by over-fertilizing. Fertilization is close to nature and promotes soil life.

Mineral fertilizersare either produced artificially or by refining a natural product from mining. The advantage is that these nutrients can be calculated very well, and fertilization of individual main nutrients such as nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium and lime is also possible. The fertilizers also show their effect relatively quickly, so a result is usually already visible after 2-4 days.

The disadvantage, however, is that excessive or incorrect fertilizer applications can damage the lawn and lead to "burns". These fertilizers also do nothing for the important soil life.
