Before you fertilize, the lawn should be dry and cut by a third - make sure you use a sharp sickle or reel when mowing.
A centrifugal spreader such as our Turbospreader (Level 4) or a spreader wagon is suitable for spreading the fertilizer.
Tip for the spreader wagon:
Place it outside the lawn when filling. Mark out a 1 m² area, optionally lay out a sheet and spread the Extra Power evenly. Weigh the spreading material - the setting is correct at around 20 g. Otherwise, optimize the level. When using a spreader wagon to spread the Extra Power, you should always be very careful and prefer to fertilize at a very low level.
Because the motto is:
It's best to apply a little less at first and then go over the lawn a second time.
Measure the amount of fertilizer in advance to suit the lawn area and distribute it evenly. Maximum 20 g/m², preferably less to avoid burns. If you over-fertilize, you will find help in our instructions.
After fertilizing, water the lawn - ideally before rain or with 10-15 l/m² of water.
Manual fertilization is possible for experienced users:
wear gloves, spread evenly lengthwise and crosswise with half the amount per pass. Avoid overlapping strips to prevent over-fertilization.
Especially in spring, we recommend taking a soil sample before the first fertilization so that you know the exact nutrient content of your lawn. You are also welcome to send us an e-mail so that we can advise you individually on how many grams of Extra Power you can still apply. This is because the frequency of fertilization intervals, especially with the Extra Power, depends on the soil conditions and the other fertilizer applications and therefore cannot be given as a general rule.
Waiting time between Turbogreen Extra Power and other products
There should be an interval of 4 to 5 weeks between Extra Power and the Turbogreen slow-release fertilizer, regardless of which product is used first. This avoids over-fertilization and possible burns from too much nitrogen.
The same applies to the use of organic fertilizers: apply the products 4 to 5 weeks apart, depending on when the lawn starts to lose its green tint.
Lawn lime can easily be applied at the same time as Extra Power. If necessary, however, it is advisable to lime again after 4-5 weeks, as Extra Power can slightly acidify the soil.
In the fall, however, Extra Power should no longer be used in order to optimally prepare the lawn for winter dormancy.
When combining with weed killer, Extra Power should be applied first. The weed killer can follow after 1-2 weeks. No waiting time is necessary for all other products.
By the way:
If you have found the perfect setting for your spreader, we would be really grateful if you could let us know the model and the ideal setting for the Extra Power. That way we can pass it on to other lawn enthusiasts via this page. Unfortunately, there are so many different spreader models and corresponding settings that we can't test them all ;-)
