Why should I apply lawn lime?

Calcium is removed from the soil by rain and fertilization. This changes the pH value of the soil, making it acidic. To balance this out, we recommend liming the soil regularly. To be able to work optimally here, you should use a Soil analysis of your soil. You will then know the exact pH value. You can order such an analysis from a professional laboratory via our website. For a simple pH value test there are kits for use at home.

The pH value of your soil should be between 6.5 and 7, the nutrient availability is best in this range. If the value is below this, the soil is acidic.

Acidic soil is problematic because it is an ideal breeding ground for moss and lawn diseases. Weeds such as sorrel, wood sorrel and cornflowers also like to grow in acidic soil and are an indicator that liming is required.
