Further possibilities:
Frequent mowing of the lawn helps to prevent ants.
Frequent watering of the lawn also disturbs the ants.
Before using baking soda or other poison, you can try to relocate the ants. To do this, take a flower pot, preferably made of clay, fill it with wood wool or newspaper and place it over the ants' nest. After some time, the ants will move into the pot, then remove the pot and ant (nest) from the lawn and relocate to a new place. It may be necessary to repeat this process to ensure that all the ants have been removed.
Mix baking powder (containing baking soda) with a little sugar and sprinkle over the nest, the ants will eat this and then die.
Sprinkle ant poison (available at any DIY store) over the nest.
