My lawn has moss and weeds, what can I do about them?

Moss and weeds on the lawn are often signs that the lawn is not being optimally cared for. The first step to improvement is to effectively remove moss and weeds and then take preventative measures to prevent their reappearance

Procedure for removing moss and weeds:

  1. Fertilization:First, the lawn should be treated with anitrogen-rich fertilizerbe treated.

  2. Weed treatment:After approx. 2 weeks, remove the weeds with a suitableWeed killerspray.

  3. Waiting time:Wait at least 14 days to give the weed killer time to work.

  4. Scarifying:The lawn can be lightly scarified to remove moss and dead material.

  5. Reseeding:Immediately after scarifying, bald patches are removed usingLawn reseedingreseeded.

  6. Soil improvement:Immediately afterwards, the soil quality can be checked with aSoil activator/lawn aeratorcan be improved. At the same time, existing lawn thatch is removed.

Long-term care for a healthy lawn:

  • Regular mowing:At least 3x/week in case of strong growth.

  • Irrigation:Water as infrequently as possible (but must not dry out), but at least 15 cm deep.

  • Regular fertilization:We recommend mowing the lawn at least every two months.Fertilize.

  • Ventilate:The lawn can be aerated 1-2 times/month using aerator cassettes or commercially available "lawn rakes". This will prevent the lawn from developing stalks and maintain a dense sward.

  • Reseeding:If gaps occur, they should be reseeded immediately so that there are no open spaces for moss and weeds to grow.
