How can millet be removed from the lawn?

Millet is best removed manually, before the seeds appear. If there is already a lot of millet, you will probably need a total herbicide. However, this should only be used if necessary, as it will also destroy the "good" lawn grasses.

You can prevent millet by scarifying the lawn in the fall and then in the spring. The turf is then reseeded and the lawn is kept very dense by deep and frequent mowing. Take care to avoid waterlogging of the lawn.
